Fr Cyril Author Page 01The Author:
Fr Cyril Agenti was a monk and a priest. Born in 1918, of Greek parents, he served the Orthodox community in Marseille, France, for over 40 years. He founded the parish of St Irenaeus, as well as a retirement home and was co-founder of Radio Dialogue–an ecumenically-oriented radio station. He took part in ecumenical dialogue and devoted much of his time to serving the poor.
He passed from this life on the Feast of the Presentation of the Mother of God in the Temple, 21 November, 1994.
The Series:
The Silver Series began as a set of broadcasts originally produced in French by Radio DialogueSS-set and regularly delivered on the air by Fr Cyril as a form of Orthodox catechism. Having since been transcribed and published in French, it is now made available in English through the generous participation and contributions of M. J.F. Soulas, of Radio Dialogue, Fr Michel and Elisabeth Hériard-Dubreuil, and Olga Lossky Laham (editor of the French edition). The Series in English has thus far been translated and edited by Fr John and Michael Breck.
The small format and thematic volumes are ideally suited for study groups.
